How long can you fly upside down?

The top line is revenue. The bottom line is money left over after expenses.

The top line falls under the bottom line when expenses are more than revenue.

While that is all I know about finances, I know that when the top line sits below the bottom line, it feels like you’re flying upside down.

It feels like you’re flying upside down because, financially speaking, you are.

Disorienting. Risky. Ambiguous. Volatile. How long can I fly upside down?

“Runway” is how startup folk talk about time regarding cash on hand.

But the emotional resources “on hand” matter, too. Probably more.

What’s your secret weapon for flying upside down?

Laugh. Exercise. Ask for help. Say hydrated. Read something inspiring.

For instance, I just finished reading Pressfield’s Put Your Ass Where Your Heart Wants to Be and immediately started rereading it.
